Wear We Are / 1
Issue 1: The systems issue
Wear We Are is an independent journal on the state of sustainability in fashion.
The journal - born in Florence, Italy - has been produced by a team of 21 fashion students and reviewed by a dozen industry experts active in the sustainability sector of fashion. Our first issue looks at some of the systems in place in the fashion that encourage and inhibit sustainable development. One of our main aims is to question how sustainability is currently integrated in the fashion industry. We want to explore underrepresented perspectives and aim to give a fresh take on the issues that the fashion and textile industries face. In doing so, we hope to offer a more nuanced discussion than popular media does and democratize sustainability information to the general public and (aspiring) professionals.
