The endless production of images and their copying is in the nature of photography. Naturally, this aspect raises questions about the possibility, the status, and the whereabouts of an original. In literature, such questions led to intertextuality, a notion which encompasses concepts like allusion, quotation, calque, plagiarism, translation, pastiche, and parody.
