ISSUE No. 6 - Homeward

 

“What does it mean to return home? What if home weren’t a place, but a feeling, a memory, a body?” With these questions, Homeward, issue 2026 of Mulieris Magazine, invites readers to reflect on the meaning of home and the journeys that lead us there: across continents, through memory, or into the depths of consciousness.

 

Produced over the course of a year and featuring over 100 contributors from around the world, Homeward explores movement in all its forms.

 

Some journeys are chosen: the search for new landscapes, for knowledge, or the need to build a home where one feels whole. Others are imposed: exile, migration, uprooting, or the slow process of rebuilding after a loss. Many paths exist within a space shaped by social class, opportunities, political realities, health, or family obligations—where the possibility of choice exists but remains limited. Homeward traverses this “in-between space,” revealing the tensions between desire, belonging, and the forces that shape our paths.

 

Through photography, essays, poetry, and visual storytelling, Homeward traces the fine lines between departure and return, movement and stillness, ultimately reflecting on the person we become once we arrive.
