Motor is a magazine dedicated to dance and writing about dance. Its core aim is to expand and interrogate how dance is framed, making it more accessible to wider audiences, and affording it the space of dialogue that other arts have long received.

Motor is a critical print publication accessible to a general public, not just for academics or dance professionals. motor aims to demystify dance and resist its charges of ephemerality, going beyond the stage and into new terrain.

We consider dance as a distinctive vantage point through which to encounter art and the world, and as a means to enact and interrogate structures of knowledge.
