Casa Brutus issue 315

The Textbook of Floor Plans (間取りの教科書), is entirely devoted to floor plans and the design of domestic spaces. It examines how Japanese homes are evolving and how alternative spatial arrangements can respond to changing habits and contemporary lifestyles. At its core is the traditional Japanese LDK (Living, Dining, Kitchen) layout, which organizes the home around the living room, dining area, and kitchen. Casa Brutus challenges this established model through projects that rethink conventional boundaries between rooms and explore new possibilities for flexibility in domestic space.
