Carcy magazine - issue 13 - Reading Room

Carcy / 13

€ 30,00Prezzo

This is our 10th anniversary and 13th issue. So, in the fashion of Jesus or Loki—no less—we decided to reunite 13 guests around a beautifully laid, printed altar to feast on some over-decorated cake and honor the beauty of lust, art, and fashion together. I am not Loki—he’s way more toxic than I am—and I’m definitely not Jesus (I’m just lucky to have made it past 33), but I do feel like hosting and preaching a little. After all, I’m turning 50 this year and that grants me the dubious honor of finally earning the official title of “Daddy”.

In numerology, 12 is considered a “complete” number—12 months, 12 zodiac signs, 12 hours on a clock, etc. So 13 is like stepping beyond perfection, into the unknown and the chaos. I see in this number an omen of disruption and reinvention, a nod to beautiful unstable things. It is a moment of rupture, yes—but also a portal. I want to seize all the best bits from the past and hurl them forward into the future: golden fragments of heritage, precious elements of legacy. We need these eternal threads to unite us.

As always, this issue’s party brings together major icons, dear friends, and new talents breathing fresh life into the fashion industry. Forever printed onto these pages, their transgenerational union is part of a vital, pulsing and ever-growing common culture, a shared legacy we must cherish as one of our main ramparts against bigoted powers, global injustice, and the forced disappearance of critical voices.

CARCY’s first mission is to keep these critical voices loud, weird, and in print. I’ve always wanted this magazine to be like this endless diner-party table—a democratic space for expression and experimentation, a moment of exchange and fun where generations ally in an everlasting embrace. This act of transmission is as much a responsibility as it is an act of radical love. As much as I want to share the benefits and critical insight that age has granted me with younger talents, I also need them—to inspire and teach me in return.

Carcy Magazine - a reference to undressing and stepping out of societal norms - is a Paris-born, large format journal focused on the topic and representation of eroticism. Its slick, minimalist design and hybrid contet seeks to portray all genders, identities, and sexualities, in order to sublimate and widen notions of beauty and sensuality.

Carcy comes twice a year with a sophisticated, pared-down aesthetic and a penchant for vintage, high-end quality photography, and portraiture. Visually, it draws on the history of the photography and narrative process of Cinema.

The magazine is about people and their link between something both intimate and universal, ancient acts constantly redefined by new norms and rules .
